Course Description: 

“Do I still need a Facebook page!?!” Though some may suggest Facebook pages are dead, they can still serve their purpose. Facebook continues to be one of the top social channels used for business because more than 70% of the online population in the US & Canada is there – especially the 40+ demographic. Your page is your professional presence for your brand or business on Facebook, where you can gather online reviews, and do targeted ads to reach your potential ideal audience. Facebook pages have a variety of useful features including the ability to share updates & information about your business, Groups – business pages can network in some groups (if the admin allows it) and you can build your own community in a Group, live video broadcasting, ‘Events’ – to promote your virtual or in-person events, & Insights (statistics for your page). Facebook has added more features to support small business, such as online shopping (selling physical products), and the ability to sell online events through your page.

The challenge? Organic or free reach for Facebook page posts has been significantly reduced over the years. You build your audience on your page (or struggle to do this), and then few of your page followers will actually see your content in their Feed. Because of this, it’s challenging to get exposure and engagement for your business without paying for ads. To have success with your page, you need to understand how it works so you can use it effectively. This includes learning about new features (such as 24-hour Stories & Reels), and understanding Facebook’s algorithm, which determines who sees your posts, so you can use it to your advantage.

Learn about new 2022 changes for Facebook Pages, how to set your page up for success, determine what & how often to share, how to increase your engagement and grow your following over time, and how to measure the success of your page. I will share some Facebook advertising tips, but this course does not cover how to do Facebook ads. I will provide resources for those who want to learn more about Facebook advertising.

NOTE (June 2022): There are many changes happening as we switch over from ‘classic’ Facebook pages, to the ‘new pages experience’, and as Meta (Facebook) changes from its ‘Business Manager’ to its new ‘Meta Business Suite’ tool. For this course I will personally work with each participant to make sure you have your page set up properly.

Experiment with your page posts to increase your organic (free) reach/exposure 
Do a live video broadcast on Facebook

✔Facebook’s ‘Meta Business Suite’ (new version of the former ‘Business Manager’) & ‘Creator Studio’ tools for posting from desktop and scheduling posts for the future

✔How to connect your Instagram business account to your page, so you can use the ‘Meta Business Suite’ or ‘Creator Studio’ tools to schedule content to share on both your Facebook page AND Instagram account

✔Facebook ads tips – including the ‘Boost post’ button vs. Facebook Ads Manager

Technical requirements to take this course:

Calls will be held using Zoom video conference calling – you’ll need a computer with a microphone & a web camera (most modern laptops have this built in) – You will need to install the free Zoom app on your computer – you can download it here: https://zoom.us/download 

Good internet access – standard high speed wi-fi 

You must have a Facebook page set up, and be a full admin on the page before the course begins. This course is designed for those who already manage a Facebook page, and understand some basics such as how to post on your page and how to reply to private messages, for example. 

You must have the regular Facebook app installed on your smartphone or tablet – this is typically installed by default on most smart devices, but if you don’t already have it, you can find it in your app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) – please make sure your app is up to date.

A second computer monitor would be nice to have but is not required – if you have one computer screen, there will be times you may need to switch back & forth between your Zoom screen & your internet browser.
